1969 Riviera 430 V8

SOLD

This 1969 Buick Riviera moved from Vancouver Canada to the Netherlands in May 2000. Where the owner enjoyed driving the Buick for 18 years. In 2018 the car was sold to Germany where the new owner made TUV and H-zulassung on the car.

The car comes with German papers but can also easily be imported back to the Netherlands.

This Riviera still has the original 430 V8 engine and automatic gearbox. Everything is still original on the engine and gearbox. The engine starts easily and idles nicely. There's plenty of power in this 360 hp (268 kW) and 475 lb⋅ft (644 N⋅m) of torque motor.

The gearbox is a TH400 and you hardly feel it shifting. Wonderfully smooth. The car has power steering and power brakes with drum brakes.

The car is a pleasure to drive. It glides smoothly on the road. Really fantastic!!!

The paint is not really good. Some people call it "patina". It is partly still the original paint. The color is called “olive beige” In some places it has been touched up or partially sprayed. The car also has some flash rust at the bottom of the doors and in some other places. But the car certainly has no rusted through spots. He is really hard everywhere!!! No rust blisters and the bottom floor boards are rock hard! The vinyl roof is also tight and without rust.

We have been around the car with a magnet and it sticks fine to 95% of the car. The seams of the doors, hood and boot lid are also neat.

The interior is really fantastic. The seats, rear seat, carpet, door panels, headliner really everything is in perfect condition. The counter shows only 61,278 miles (approx. 98,000 km) and judging by the condition of the interior, that could well be correct. The electric windows work fine and also the central door locking. The antenna can be operated from the inside and the heater gets nice and warm. The steering wheel is adjustable in height and the interior lighting works in both the front and rear. The sofa can be operated electrically, but the relay does click, but the sofa does not move. There is still some research work needed.

The beautiful large 15 inch tires look good on the car and the original hubcaps complete it.

The exhaust sounds neat but is certainly not too loud.

The car is sold in its current condition. So, as it were, as a “project car”.

Please note you are looking at a 54 year old Classic car. This is not a brand new or completely restored 1000 point show car. It is very nice but there will always be that is not perfect or something to improve or renew.
