1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 Coupe fully restored!!!!

Sold new in Daly City, CA back in 1978. 107k Original Miles! Nut and bolt restoration started by the previous owner, Mark, over 10 years ago. Complete body restoration of a RUST FREE California Car. Build sheet is present. Mark has over 1000 hours of labor and thousands of dollars in new parts. Building this car was a distraction for Mark to take his mind away from his busy daytime job.

Unfortunately Marks patience came to an end so Rookie Classics had to finish the job. We installed the driveshaft, exhaust system, oil cooler lines, and fixed many many other small stuff to make it run and drive like it does today.

The engine is the original matching numbers 6.6L (403ci) V8. The engine was taken apart and completely rebuild. The transmission is a TH350 3 speed automatic. The muffler is in the front of the rear axle, where it's supposed to be. The sound is really good, not too loud, not too mellow.

Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Rally 2 Wheels, Rear Spoiler, and more... Tires look good and have enough profile on them but they are old and should be replaced.

New Paint, called Carmine, looks really good and it has a few layers of clear coat on it. Please note that the paint color in the pictures look red but it’s actually more maroon. It’s a very nice and good paintjob. There is NO rust on this Firebird!!! Floors are super solid and all original metal.

All new interior, Seats, Carpet, Headliner, Sun Visors, Console, Door Panels, Dash and trim. The dash has a crack in the middle but for the rest it is in good shape. Power windows and power door locks work perfectly. Original Am/FM Radio. The interior looks like a dream and the seats are very comfortable.

All the glass is new and free of scratches. Moldings and trim are in very good condition.

Engine, Transmission, Brakes, Brake Lines, Front Suspension, Steering, new Glass, all rubber weatherstripping is new, Trunk detailed with spatter paint. Original spare tire, and jack/tools.

We have had this Firebird checked by our technical specialists (certified TÜV/RDW mechanics) for 14 essential safety points such as suspension, steering, brakes, lighting and accessories. Where necessary, parts were renewed or improved. All this so that you can drive many safe kilometers with this fantastic classic.

Please note that this is a 44 year old classic car. This is not a brand new or fully restored 1000 point show car. It's very nice, but there will always be something that's not perfect or something to improve or innovate.

This is an example of a true survivor.
