Nice 1968 Camaro, the 1st gen, the most beautiful generation of this model !!
Nice 1968 Chevrolet Camaro bought from Barry Parker. Barry had the Camaro for 2 years and bought it from his friend who had the car for 29 years.
The Camaro is equipped with a rebuild “non-matching” but strong 327cui engine that is 0.40 overbored. 327/350 horse power Corvette engine, steel crank, big balancer, "double hump heads** " less then 4000 mile since rebuild. no oil leaks . Comp Cam, Holley intake and carburator, Hedmann headers and various other performance parts are fitted. Everything is very nice and clean under the hood.
**"Double-hump" heads were found on many of its high-performance engines in the 1960s and early 1970s. They were manufactured with larger intake and exhaust port volumes and valves for the period, and engines equipped with them had output ratings of more than 350 horsepower.
The transmission is a wide ratio M-20 Muncie 4 speed with a std. 10.5 ", clutch. Shifts smoothly and is nice and sporty to drive.
The suspension, steering and brakes has been renewed a lot. New bushings, tie rods, springs, shock absorbers and rubbers. All technically in very good condition.
The paint is not very good, really American. The color is the original: Seafrost green. This Camaro deserves a new paint job, hence this price. The car has no rusted spots. The bottom is solid and rust-free. There is some bondo above both rear wheels. The trunk lid is not nice either, but another good lid is included. Trunk is neatly provided with spatter paint and a spare wheel. The frame rails are neatly straight and we cannot see that the car has had any damage.
The interior is very nice and clean. Beautiful original seats that sit very well. Door panels, carpet, headliner, dash pad are all in very good condition !! Nice center console with 4 speed shifter. There is a tachometer on the steering column and there are 3 gauges that keep an eye on oil pressure, water temperature and battery voltage. Original radio with an extra FM receiver is mounted. The steering wheel is also really neat with all other parts of the interior.
The rear end is a non posi 10 bolt with 3.08 gears. The rims are beautiful black 14 inch with chrome center caps. Tires are new and have white lettering on the inside. The best thing is when the tires are turned so that the letters can be seen.
All the chrome is nice and the bumpers are straight. The bumper guards give the car a real classic look. All emblems en moldings are in good condition.
In short, a very nice and technically good car that needs some optical attention.
The 68 Camaro drives, brakes, steers and shifts wonderfully. You can still enjoy many kilometers of fun with this !!
